Unleashing transformational growth through a leader-coach approach

Session Summary:

Join Katherine TulpaGlobal CEO of the Association for Coaching and Syl Saller, Global CMO of Diageofor an exciting conversation about what it means to lead with a coaching approach, from both a client and coach perspective.  

They will talk about how leaders can make every conversation a coaching conversation, create a coaching culture and learn what it takes for a Leader Coach to help nurture this approach and grow outstanding leaders. The role of external coaches in a leader coach company will also be examined. 

Syl will share from her experience as a leader and a coach in complex multi-nationals, as well as in smaller scale organisations. Syl has been recognised as a strategic, visionary and exceptionally inspirational leader who is using a coach approach when working with her team and peers.

Speakers’ Bio:

Katherine Tulpa is the Global CEO and Co-founder, Association for Coaching and Executive Director, Wisdom8As a pioneering leader within her field, Katherine’s purpose is to inspire and stretch business leaders and coaches to make a positive impact in the world.  

Described by others as someone who ‘pushes the boundaries’ and role-models, ‘collaborative-based’ leadership, Katherine specializes in cross-cultural and global leadership coaching, having worked with CEOs, C-Suite leaders and top teams from across 35 different nationalities.

She is the recipient of the awards for Influencing and Impacting the Coaching Profession and was made Coach/Mentor of the Year, by Coaching at Work.  She is also a speaker and author, with contributions in Leadership Coaching, Excellence in Coaching, and Diversity in Coaching (Kogan Page), including serving on Editorial Board for Coaching, an International Journal of Theory, Research, and Practice (Routledge).

Syl Saller is the Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer for Diageo, a member of Diageo’s Executive Committee and a client- based Executive coach. Syl’s experience ranges from luxury goods to FMCG to retail, and she understands both developed and emerging markets. She has a proven track record as both leader and coach in complex multi-nationals, as well as in smaller scale organisations.  Her leadership approach and drive for gender equality earned her a CBE in the 2019 queen’s honours.  

Syl is a member of the Coaching Faculty for the Marketing Academy Fellowship Program which aims to develop C-Suite skills for a highly select group of marketing leaders at the top of their game. She sits on the Board of the Marketing Academy.  

She is President of the Marketing Society, an organisation of over 3000 members, whose mission is to empower brave leadership through having the conversations that matter and building meaningful connections. Syl is a Trustee for the Women’s Prize for Fiction and sits on the Executive Board of the World Federation of Advertisers. Syl was a Non-Exec Director for Domino’s Pizza Group from 2011 to 2014. She chaired the Nominations Committee and was a member of the Remuneration Committee. Syl is consistently recognized by external organisations as a leader and expert coach in her field. She was named Marketer of the Year, one of Debrett’s 500 Most Influential People in Britain, WFA’s top 5 Global CMO’s, Forbes 50 Most Influential CMOs and an Ad Age’s Women to Watch.
